Gobble Gobble

Thanksgiving was so much fun but flew by way too fast!! We loved our visit in Atlanta and this year Philip got to help daddy and Papa Doc make the infamous Buckler dressing with LOTS of pepper!! Philip loved watching the NYC parade this year and I promised him that one day in a few years (hopefully)... we will go to the parade in New York... mommy's dream!! Then, we had a relaxing thanksgiving lunch at my grandmommies house with over 30 people filled with great company, great food and great memories. Philip was estatic this year to play in the football turkey bowl game and loved telling everyone that he "was going to play futball" as he calls it!! The boys especially loved playing with their Gigi and Papa Doc all week and with cake and ice cream three meals a day and no bedtime... I didn't know if I was ever going to get them to come home! What can I say... its always a blast at Gigi and Doc's house! Happy Thanksgiving!!

More Pepper Doc... our Daddy Buck is definitely smiling down from heaven watching this!!

Makeup... not overrated!

Well yesterday was an interesting day for sure to put it mildly. As we were leaving the Y, Philip pointed at an older lady who was of course probably coming to work out and had no makeup on and was not your high school prom queen if you get my gist. He out of the blue points right to her face as we pass by and starts screaming... "Scarecrow... so scary! Scarecrow... so scary!" He literally kept screaming it and I of course as any mommy would be was absolutely MORTIFIED! I just kept walking faster but he just kept screaming it no matter how hard I tried to bribe him to stop. When I told Phil, he was like "Steph, you have to control him better... that is so awful." Needless to say daddy didn't quite understand how when I told him to stop... he just got louder and louder. So then last night Phil took Philip to the grocery store as we were out of milk for our morning cereal. When they got home, Phil had a shocked look on his face. When I asked him what was wrong, he told me that lets just say he got a taste of his own medicine! While they were checking out at Harris Teeter, Philip turned to the man standing directly behind them, who Phil said had a beard, was wearing a red shirt and was a little overweight... and Philip pointed right at him and started screaming... "I see Christmas... I see Christmas... I see Christmas... its Santa Claus!" Phil said that it was so awful as they were waiting to pay and could not just run out of the store and the more Phil tried to get Philip to stop the louder he got. Well what can I say... after Philip went to bed last night... mommy and daddy poured big glasses of wine. Cheers to kids saying the darnedest things... I guess you just gotta laugh!

I See Christmas!!

"I See Christmas" is Philip's favorite new saying these days. He is obsessed with finding anything that looks like santa or is red in color or looks like christmas and he loves to point to it and say "I see christmas!!" And I know, I know what you must all be thinking, how can she bring out Ziggy the elf and decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving is even here?! Well as a mom of a 2 year old... we need all the leverage we can get these days to prevent melt downs. And Ziggy the elf, who reports all bad behavior back to Santa at the North pole, is a great tactic that is working so well that I might even consider bringing him out in the summertime next year. Its amazing how a little fear of no presents will make a 2 yr old melt down turn off in a split second. So if you haven't ever tried to bring out a little christmas early... you might want to next year...

Parker is loving his new music class on thursdays with just mommy while his big brother Philip is in preschool. And he was very excited to show his big brother what he learned at "music together" class this week. However his big brother of course demanded on playing the teacher as always...

9 Months Old Today!

Can you believe it?! How can it be true?! How can my little Parker man already be 9 months old today?! Parker, you are just growing up way too fast! We just had your 9 month checkup with Dr. Ryan and as she said "you are doing awesome!" You weighed 21 lbs 12 oz (70%) and were 29 inches long (70%) which makes you PERFECT!! And don't ever let your silly Brosseau uncles tell you that you have a big head b/c it measured 45 cm (50%) which again is PERFECT!! I wish I could invent a mommy time machine that would stop you from growing up but then again I love to see all your newfound talents each and everyday. You melt my heart every time I see your sweet little face. You are absolutely in love with your big brother Philip... you think he is so funny, you literally smile nonstop to the point where I begin to wonder if your mouth gets tired and you have a belly laugh that is contagious to everyone around you! You are becoming more and more independent these days as you like to feed yourself which I must say is pretty amusing, take off your shoes and socks, hold your own bottle and pretty much do anything just like your big brother. You have just started crawling a few steps at a time though you really are pretty content where ever you are with no real rush to get anywhere new. I must say you get that from your daddy and I am thanking my lucky stars how laid back and easy going you are. You truly define the term "angel baby" as I call you everyday and when you belly laugh... it makes me laugh till I cry. You love to play with anything that has strings attached so I am pretty sure that must mean you are going to be very committed to every dream you ever have which again makes me smile! I feel beyond blessed to be your mommy and we are enjoying every second of everyday with you! We love you "Carker Man" (as Philip lovingly calls him everyday)! xoxo

Bye-Bye

Well, its official ladies and gentlemen! Our precious Parker has said his first word at 8 1/2 months. Of course it was neither mine nor Phil's first choice as we have had a running battle to see who can get him to say "mama" or "dada" first. Every night for many many months now Phil and I sit and try to get Parker to say our name and it literally has become the joke of the family. However, little Parker man surprised us all when he blabbed his first sweet word... "Bye Bye" today!! What can I say, I guess he is the second child afterall... I mean this kid is literally always on the go, always going "bye-bye" as he says and still to this day has never taken a morning nap in his actual crib. Poor thing - He is so chill and laid back that he literally just goes with the flow and naps where he can... whether it be in his car seat, in the stroller or even in mommy's arms while being out and about at all his big brother's daily activities. Philip has such a busy schedule... afterall it must be so hard to be two these days and so our little Parker man just sits back, relaxs and goes BYE-BYE all day long!! Poor second child!

Cupcakes and Champagne

Cupcakes and Champagne are always a hit at playgroup! That is cupcakes for the little ones and champagne (aka - "mommy juice") for the mommies! Philip, Parker and I had a blast hosting playgroup today and we can't wait until next week when we get to play again with all our friends!

Go Dawgs... Sic Em!

Go Dawgs... today, Philip was officially made into a bulldawg!! He had so much fun, dressed fratty and all in his Georgia Red pants and his new balances of course, from playing football at the tailgate, eating candy and cheering on his dawgs between the hedges to going on the field at halftime, getting pics with the legends Lindsey Scott and Buck Belue and pounding out AJ Green, Caleb King and Coach Richt during the halftime tunnel on the field. It was truly surreal and he loved every minute of it.... almost as much as his dad!! Thanks to my uncle Lon who was recognized at halftime on the field for being on the 1980 national championship team, Philip and I got to go on the field for the entire halftime and even meet UGA VIII!! Philip did great and I am still amazed how he literally sat in his proud daddy's lap during the game without ever even asking to get down... must have been those 90,000 people in the crowd that made him feel very very small but he loved it more than words and keeps asking when he can go back to another "Go Dawgs game" (as he calls it). What can I say, after a perfect day... Philip is a bulldog for life now!! Sorry for all the tons of pics... as you can probably tell, we got very excited!
