Those shoes were made for walking

We had Parker's physical therapy evaluation appointment this morning and lets just say I apparently have been worried for nothing!! Parker completed all the tests/exercises great... the dr said there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this child except he smiles TOO MUCH!! He LOVED being the center of attention and loved showing off without his big brother around. Parker even started dancing and singing "uh-oh oh oh oh" which the boys have claimed is mommy's favorite song (Britney Spears) which was a little embarrassing today when they asked me what he was singing... I of course acted like I had never heard it before (oopsie). Anyways they said he is completely fine and has no neurological or physical issues... he just walks with his ankles going in a little like all babies do when they start to walk and that he just needs to build up those muscles so some supportive shoes will give him the confidence to do it on his own. They also said the only reason he is delayed in his walking is apparently b/c he had a big brother and Mommy who do it all for him so he doesnt have to walk on his own to get things and that as he is trying to keep up with his big brother who RUNS everywhere... walking is way too slow so he prefers to crawl since its much faster!! They suggested getting Parker some new balances or some white high tops and that he would build up those feet muscles and be walking in no time at all. So we are all walking and jumping for joy at the Brosseau house... thank you all for your prayers and we are so excited with this wonderful news!! And cheers to our the newest little frat star... Parker will be overjoyed that now he can have matching fratty new balances just like his big brother and his daddy and mommy is just thankful that now I will be able to sleep at night again!
There is nothing better than Dinosaur cookies to celebrate... yay!!

Bye-Bye Curls

Well really bye-bye to just a few curls I guess... our little Parker man got his first hair cut today and lets just say I was a wreck. I cried pretty much through the whole thing (gotta love the hormones of us mommies)... somehow in my mind, 1st haircut = growing up and going to college (praise the lord I am a little bit of an exaggerator and that isn't really what it means). However, he still has tons of curls and as Phil says you can barely tell he even got it cut. Well, he definitely got a little trim and he does still look too cute for words curls and all! But hopefully now his daddy will stop calling him Toby Keith every 5 minutes and every person in the grocery store will stop asking me how old SHE is!!
Getting all ready riding in the firetruck
awaiting his haircut
at Pigtails and Crewcuts (same place where Philip had his first haircut 2 years ago)
Both boys dilligently guarding the Firetruck
so none of the other kids pick it first (of course)
Smock or no Smock...
No Smock... but animal cookies are always a must
Note: it is only this long when its wet... I know I know... it was definitely time!
Haircuts mean lots
and lots
of Lollipops!!
So over it at this point... can you tell?!
And all done... Too cute for words (curls and all)!
Cheers to Lollipops,
Sweet, Loving Brothers
and Haircuts!

A+ Doctor Reports

Yesterday, both boys had their well checkup appt and lets just say both got rewarded with LOTS and LOTS of stickers (literally Jan, our favorite, spoiled the boys with like 15 stickers) and lollipops... yay!! Parker had his 18 month visit and weighed 27 lbs 8 oz (50%) and was 33 1/2 inches tall (75%). He used all his favorite words for Dr. Ryan ("Night Night", "Ready" "here you go", "all done", "ready", "where r u "pill up"", "I love you", "hello", "ball", "please", "thank-you", "Buzz", "Woody", "Banana", "Fruit Snacks", "Mommy", "Daddy" and right after his shot he screamed "Bye-Bye." (Note his words are in order of importance which Phil and I really still dont know how we made the tail end of the list especially even after Buzz and Woody... but such is life I guess). Lets just say our sweet Parker man who I thought would never talk trying to get a word in with his older brother around is exactly like his older brother and instead never shuts up... he even sang his favorite song "wheels on the bus." So basically he talked nonstop through his entire part of the appt which Dr. Ryan was very impressed about, however though he stood up and danced while he sang wheels on the bus without holding onto anything... he wouldn't WALK!! He is taking lots of steps and when I say lots... like over 10 steps at a time by himself, he can stand up on his own, booty dance dropping down low and up again by himself (obviously he's got a little Buckler in him) but as he wants to ALWAYS keep up with his big brother Philip who is pretty much ALWAYS running, walking is just definitely not his primary mobility of choice. Dr. Ryan was still not worried but as a mom of two with an 18 month old not primarily walking, I demanded a second opinion. So I got a referral and we are all scheduled to take Parker to a physical therapist next week. Dr. Ryan said he clearly can walk (obviously), there is nothing wrong with him in anyway physically or mentally (he exceeded the social skills and talking portion of the appt), he just chooses not to walk which is apparently very common in second children who have an older sibling so close in age as well as premature babies (and he was born a month early). She even joked that he will probably be walking full out before our appt but me (the neurotic mom... and yes, I am admitting it - I have been a little obsessive over this whole walking issue) is still choosing to just find out if there is anything I can be doing better to encourage him to walk more. Dr. Ryan said the therapist will give Parker an evaluation which she said she is sure will be that he is perfect but just being a late walker (aka - give me the neurotic mommy a peace of mind) and then give us some exercises to encourage Parker to walk more and that he will probably be running in no time at all. At that point I am sure I will wish he was still crawling as I will then have two wild little boys under the age of THREE running in different directions. Good thing I have two arms I guess!! However, we welcome and ask for all of your prayers and I will keep you all updated. So, other than the "late walking" Parker is absolutely perfect from head to toe!! Next up was Philip who had his 3 yr visit and impressed Dr. Ryan with his outgoing little personality to say the least. He told her all about animal camp, his little brother Parker and of course about kissing KATE (I was mortified but played it off pretty well I think)!! He also really loved being the center of attention (as always... definitely gets this from his daddy) and showing the Dr how he knew all his colors, shapes, etc., telling her all about how he goes pee pee and poop on the big boy potty and he even got his shot without crying! He weighed 32 lbs (50%) and was 39 1/2 inches tall (65%)... absolutely perfect!! And as we left, Philip was so VERY PROUD of himself (to put it mildly), that he decided to tell all the nurses, the checkout staff and every single person in the waiting room (all 15 of them and their kids) how "he didn't even cry when he got his shot but his little brother Parker did!" Uh-oh... looks like the brotherly competition has already begun... what are we going to do with this kid when he is like 16?!!

K-I-S-S-I-N-G

Well lets just start off by saying I am pretty sure Philip III is going to be a lady's man not to mention have way more game than his daddy ever did. We all remember his love affair with 2yr old Ellie in school last year. It all started with her (which his teachers still to this day call the hottest 2yr old romance they had ever seen)... and how he used to get his friends to switch places with him in line so he could stand next to her and secretly hold her hand, and how he always had to sit next to her while they ate lunch, and not to forget the infamous moment when he screamed at the top of his lungs how he wanted to "show Ellie his woody" in front of every parent in the church school. Well, somehow we survived that and didnt get blacklisted from school (praise the lord) but we have now moved onto a new chapter in Philip's love life. He is in Animal camp this week at the Charlotte Nature Museum which he absolutely LOVES. When I went to pick him up the first day at camp, his teachers said he did great however they did have one little concern. They pointed to the cutest little bleach blond 3yr old and asked me if we knew "Kate" or were good friends with her family. I of course said no that I had never met Kate or her family but I was sure they were wonderful people, why do you ask? Well the counselor responded, we couldn't get Philip to stop kissing Kate. The counselors asked if we could please talk to Philip about not kissing Kate (apparently they get concerned about germs or something like that) and I of course said sure. So we got in the car and Philip immediately started telling me all about his love affair with Kate and how Kate was his girlfriend and how she really liked all his kisses. I explained to him that showing our love is a wonderful thing however we have to be careful with our friends (and friends we don't even know (aka Kate)) and that instead of kissing Kate he needed to use his words instead and that he could save all those kisses for mommy (of course right, as I know there will come a day when I don't get those anymore so no need to give those away just yet... I mean afterall he is only THREE!!). He of course responded with that he would kiss me but he wanted to kiss Kate too... so lets just say when Phil got home from work he had his work cut out for him. He took Philip to get chocolate ice cream, his favorite, (bribery... always works) and explained that he couldn't kiss Kate but when he gets older he should kiss as many girls as possible! Philip agreed as he licked his ice cream cone (again bribery... works everytime). Then when Phil told me about his lecture I of course was mortified. I mean really, to all you mommy's out there... Can you believe he told him to kiss as many girls as possible?! He's THREE and already getting in trouble with kissing girls... what, are we trying to raise a man slut?!! Can't wait for the letters from the teachers we are going to get sent home when he's 15 and really hits puberty!! But at that point there was nothing more to do but wait. So then this morning when I took Philip to camp to drop him off, I met Kate's mommy. She and I laughed as she explained that the love affair was definitely mutual and how Kate had talked nonstop about Philip and even suggested to her mommy that she really thought it was best if she just changed her little brother, Bryce's, name to Philip too. Apparently little miss Kate loved every minute of the attention and kisses from Philip like he had said. Kids are really too funny at this age and at least Phil's lecture worked b/c today when I picked Philip up from camp, he immediately got into the car and said, "mommy, I didnt kiss Kate today!" Hilarious and what a day... but still cannot believe that I am already having to address PDA with our THREE year old!

Sweetest Morning Ever

This morning Philip woke up a little earlier than usual at 8am so he went downstairs and had breakfast (and morning quiet time with the Lord) just him and his daddy. When I came downstairs 30 minutes later, this was what I saw... a little piece of heaven! There is nothing better in the whole world than waking up and learning Psalms 68 from my precious 3 yr old (and yes, that is the same precious 3 yr old that pulled the fire alarm a few weeks back!!). Praise God for teaching us unconditional love! (Philip's favorite part was obviously the following: "May God arise, may his enemies be scattered; may his foes flee before him. As smoke is blown away by the wind, may you blow them away; as wax melts before the fire, may the wicked perish before God. But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God, may they be happy and joyful. Sing to God, sing praise to his name." Psalms 68:1-4)

"I'm NOT gonna pull that RED thing again!"

Yep, you read it right. Those were the words that came out of Philip's mouth as we pulled into MP Baptist Church today for his first day of GOLF camp! He attended sports camp four weeks ago at the same place and lets just say to put it mildly, it did NOT end on a great note! Apparently one of three little boys were waiting in the carpool line and saw a really cool red thing that said pull down on it. So what did one little boy (not to be mentioned) do... pulled it down. It was a disaster and caused absolute chaos as the fire trucks came in minutes and the counselors (who were outnumbered by screaming and out of control three year olds) had to evacuate all the little ones outside and all this while the carpool line was forming with lots of cars going in and out of the parking lot (could it have happened at a more awful time, I think not?!). So When I picked up Philip and laughed to the counselor about how awful that was and I know it couldn't have been Philip that pulled it (note to self: insert foot in mouth now), she responded with well, actually we don't know who it was. All we know is that it was one of three little boys and apparently Philip Brosseau was one of the 3 little culprits. She continued that when the counselor sat them down to explain that what they did was wrong and dangerous (since none of them even knew what a fire alarm was at age 3), they asked which one of them did it. Much to their surprise... all three little boys raised their hand and confessed to the crime. I of course was mortified as any mommy would be and learned a very important lesson... never assume that your little precious 3 yr old didn't cause the chaos... b/c chances are they did!! Gotta love curious little boys!! So here's to a new week of Golf camp and hoping that no red things get pulled!!
Golf Hockey...
But we are learning and loving GOLF!!

Beaches, Beaches and more Beaches

So sorry I haven't blogged in like FOREVER!! We have been gone for weeks and since I need my computer at home to blog (sounds like someone needs an iPad (hint hint Phil!!))... I have been blogless! But we are home now for a few weeks and I promise I will update some fun pics of the boys from the beaches of St. Simons and Florida very soon (although since getting their picture taken seems to be the boys LEAST favorite thing these days... we will have to see if there are any that even photoshop can have any hope for)!
Stay tuned... xoxo
