Easter Bunnies are SCARY

We had a wonderful easter week at the beach with our great friends the Luciers! Great friends, great food, great kids playing in the sand and lots of mommy and daddy cocktails at night made the perfect week!! With a one yr old, two yr old, three yr old, and four year old... the trip was to put it mildly full of surprises but in the end was the best surprise of all... the Easter Bunny!! Although from the videos and pics you will see... the easter bunny was not the kids favorite by any means! Philip talked a big talk walking up to meet the bunny asking for his toy story "ham" the pig (of course)... but as he got closer the brakes came on! And Parker was not a fan of the scary bunny either but LOVED the beach, the ocean and eating sand (of course). Thank you so much to the Luciers for a wonderful week at the beach... it was definitely a trip we will never forget!! Enjoy!

What are Uncles For... duh, WINNING!

We were in Dallas last week for 5 days to see family and for a very much needed mommy and daddy weekend off while we went to a great friend's wedding in Big D! We had an absolute blast (on our "lovers weekend" as Phil kept calling it staying with friends) and the boys really enjoyed some special one on one time with their Mimi and Grande and of course their crazy but fun uncles! We even celebrated Philip's birthday a little early with a special cake that he and his Mimi made especially for him and he decorated it with nonetheless but Toy Story figures and sprinkles... he was very proud of his cake and even more proud of being the center of attention (dont know where he gets that... hmmm, can we say daddy?!)!! We joked however that it doesn't look like cake decorating will be in his future (see pic below)! We also enjoyed eating our beloved Mi Cocina mexican three times while we were there (and yes that was 3 times in just 5 days... can we say obsessive?!) Then, Mimi and Grande and Aunt Avri took the boys to the zoo on Saturday where they had a real blast seeing and feeding the animals. Philip couldn't stop talking about feeding the giraffes literally out of his hand (so cool) and how big the lions where (of course - lions... still his favorite animal for sure). And for those of you who don't know, Phil is the oldest of 6 kids (5 of which are boys)... so the uncles get a real joy out of teaching our kids ridiculous (but always funny) things. All I can say is payback is twice as bad... Winning! (Be sure to pause the music player on the right side of the blog so you can hear little Philip saying his new favorite phrase)

Grande and Parker just enjoying some Dallas spring weather
Mimi and Philip celebrating with a kiss after finishing his birthday cake
Happy 3rd Birthday Philip... love the clumps of sprinkles (which of course was Philip's requested piece) and the army men EVERYWHERE... can we say tasty?!
Parker in survival mode after his first plane ride as a 1 year old (he has flown multiple times last year but wasn't nearly as active as he is now so lets just say the plane rides were a real adventure and were not fun... good thing Philip sat quietly both ways watching movies with his headphones on... but Parker was like a greased pig (as Phil lovingly called him) that we passed back and forth to each other every 5 minutes to try to keep him entertained. Good Times!

A VERY SAD Good-bye...

As I try to write this I truly don't even have the words!! My family's heart has a hole in it so big at this point I can only ask everyone for prayers! We got the very sad news yesterday that Herschel is unfortunately an aggressive puppy in nature and as God made us all different with all different personalities... the same goes for doggies. The trainer and the breeder both recommended to me for the safety of my young children to not keep Herschel and to let the breeder try to find him a new home. As he was our little puppy for only 6 weeks... needless to say he captured most of our hearts especially mine and Philips!! Philip has been crying everyday since he has been gone just thinking he is at camp. Now for that difficult conversation that no one EVER wants to have with their little ones... here it goes! Please pray for healing, for me and Phil to have words of wisdom and for a love to surround us that only God can give!! To have lost our Texie, our best friend, first child and best doggie ever, just 6 months ago and then to be given the love of a new puppy for 6 weeks and then to have that taken away in the blink of a moment... well lets just say there are not words to describe this pain. I can only pray that my little boys will feel all of our love surround them to get them through this unexplainable sad time!!

Is it the Ritz Carlton...

Nope, just Herschel's new pad at his doggie boot camp! Check it out... he has his own little cottage complete with a bed, flatscreen, toys and a/c! What can I say, he thinks he has died and gone to doggie heaven! He will be in training at boot camp for the next three weeks and is supposed to come home like a movie star dog... and let me tell you after dropping him off today, I am a believer!! This dog trainer is like the dog whisperer... she trains movie star dogs, service dogs and her latest is Sally who was in the movies hitcher, friday the 13th and Brad Pitt's new movie coming soon to a theater near you called Tree of Life! She has won awards all over the country and has been featured in countless magazines. Lets just say she is da' bomb of dog trainers and we are excited to get our little Herschel back fully potty trained, kid trained and well mannered... and if he can change diapers and clean up after the boys that will just be an added bonus... score!! We will be visiting Herschel over the next few weeks and his brothers, Philip and Parker, are very excited about doing some training with him and the dog whisperer at his camp! Good luck Herschel... we will miss you and love you very much but know you will love hanging out at your new bachelor pad for a few weeks!! Have fun... now go learn some manners!!!

March Madness... so overrated

Now with both our Dawgs and our Heels out of the tournament... what's the fun in March Madness?! However, Philip loved watching b-ball with the boys... daddy and uncle Jay took him to the bar on Saturday night (somehow this wasn't part of mommy's plan having the boys pick up pizza)!

Pure Bliss

Phil and I went to NY this week... he for work and me for fun. It was such a blast as I am obsessed with NY to put it mildly... we ate at the new hotspot Beauty and Essex... so NY, I LOVED it (you literally had to walk through a pawn shop to get into the club/restaurant and it was PACKED) and Tartine, my second fav as I am head over heels about anything in Greenwich village. We stayed at the Waldorf which had the best room service any girl could hope for and after shopping in the Meat packing district (which I LOVE) and eating at Pastis, I hit up none other than 5th Avenue. I shopped with my new bff Carrie Underwood at bloomies (literally met her, talked to her and shopped with her for about 5 minutes... and it was a pretty unbelievable 5 minutes as she is super cool and so down to earth). I am definitely a new Carrie fan... just wish I had her bank account!! Then I hit up FAO Schwartz which was so so fun (but which I had to get out of quickly as I could do some serious damage in there buying toys for the boys and candy for me.. but I did manage to buy a ball for Parker (his new favorite obsession) and a Toy Story Woody guitar for Philip so he can play music while he sings his new favorite song "You got a friend in me" over and over and over- still dont know where these kids get their obsessive behavior from?! Ha!) and after walking in central park, I went to the Plaza where the entry was full of the most AMAZING PINK ROSES... of course, my all time FAVORITE!! I love the fact that there is literally a Starbucks on every corner which was always the perfect mid-morning or mid-afternoon pick me up and the people watching in the city is just so amazing. I even convinced Phil to take me into none other than the fabulous Manolo store which is a little piece of heaven to my shoe-aholic self!! Did I mention how much I love NY??!! Anyways, it was so nice to have a little mommy mini vaca to recharge my mommy battery and the boys had a blast with their Gigi and Papa Doc. Let's just say I am pretty sure they got to eat whatever they wanted whenever they wanted and didn't have to go to bed if they didn't want to... do you see a common theme here?! Philip loved telling me all about his fun week and how he got to see his grandmommie and granddaddy, throw rocks in their creek and of course his favorite having dinner and ice cream at "the club." Grandparents house = pure bliss! NY for mommy = pure bliss!! What can we say... it was a pretty perfect week!! Thank you so much Gigi and Papa Doc... we love yall and can't thank yall enough for all your love and amazing help!! And thank you so much to my amazing hubby for letting me tag along... I love you more than words!! Now we are home... and it's back to reality!!!

To Infinity and Beyond

Philip is loving his two newest best friends these days... meet Woody and Buzz! He sleeps with them, eats with them, takes them to school and talks to them like they are real. He has watched all three of the toy story movies (countless times) and is literally OBSESSED!! (Don't know where he gets that obsessive behavior from?!...) On Thursday we were running a little late for school (story of my life with two boys under the age of 3 and a new puppy) and Philip realized that we had forgotten to bring Woody with us to school. I tried like any mommy would to convince him that Woody wasn't feeling good so he asked to stay at home and watch over Philip's room for him. Well as you can imagine with an obsessive child and a 2 yr old that lives in the MOMENT always, that didn't go over well! So he immediately started one of those 2 yr old meltdowns (the worst kind) and was screaming as we walked through the church preschool... "I want to show Elle (his girlfriend at school) my Woody, I want to show Elle my Woody." He must have said it literally like over 50 times and as you can imagine all the parents were laughing hysterically while I was of course MORTIFIED and kept saying... "he's talking about the toy story woody, you know toy story?!" I mean really, who in the heck named that dang doll Woody?!!... Thanks alot Disney!!
