Hot Dog Hot Dog Hot Diggity Dog

Sound familiar?! Well that was the song that played over and over and over in the Brosseau house this past week and weekend... what fun!! We had a blast with our fun visit from our Mimi and Grande. Mimi brought Philip his very own Mickey mouse ears that have his name on the back that Phil wore as a little boy from his first trip to Disney World years ago (which was so cool) and she brought the boys favorite (including daddy) as always JD's chocolate chip cookies. Philip LOVED wearing the ears around and both boys of course loved singing and dancing to the "hot dog" song and eating yummy cookies all weekend long! Mimi and Grande, we love yall so very much and can't thank you enough for your sweet visit! We can't wait to see you soon and we miss you already! (And Note to Self: I need to be better about taking more pics especially when our sweet grandparents are here).
*Remember to mute the music player to the right of the blog to listen to the video*

There is just nothing sweeter than the sound

of my 3 BOYS!! I am so blessed to have all three of them and couldn't imagine my life any different! It's because of these sweet hand prints and foot prints, giggles and tears that I am the luckiest girl in the whole world! Philip gave me the sweetest gift tied with a precious little ribbon this year and it read:

I made a special gift for you
To celebrate your day
And to thank you for taking care of me
In a kind and loving way.

Now you'll see it's dressed in ribbon
And tied into a bow
Be sure to save this ribbon
'cause there's a secret you should know.

The ribbon has been cut just right
To show you I've grown so tall
And one day when you pull it out
You'll think of it as small.

Our bond is all our own.
We were always meant to be.
God not only gave me to you,
But He chose you for me.

So today I wish all you amazing mommies out there a wonderful day of love! We have the toughest job in the whole world but one that definitely gives the BIGGEST reward! And to my sweet mom, YOU are so amazing and I wouldn't be here without YOU! I have learned so much from you... what it means to be truly giving and caring, how to believe in myself and my ideals and most importantly the unconditional love of our heavenly father. I'm always happy when someone says that I remind them of you... because there isn't anyone else in the world I'd rather be like... I love you MOM! Happy Mother's Day!

Guess whose swimming like little fish...

Philip and Parker!!! Today, we started swim lessons for Philip and Parker at the Y and they both absolutely LOVE it! Philip was so excited to be in a big boy class for the first time ever with just the instructor and other kids and his favorite part he said was of course jumping in like Buzz lightyear while yelling "to infiniti and beyond." He would literally stand and jump on the side practicing while he was waiting his turn for Mrs. Christine to let him jump in off the side... too cute! And Parker was so excited to be in his first mommy and me swim class and he did great! He loved splashing in the water and kicking his feet, loved swimming after the balls (of course) and even went down the slide and blew bubbles... such a big boy! Mommy, daddy, Philip and Parker loved our family saturday morning swim lessons and can't wait for next week!!
Philip's Pike swim class (Philip is 2nd from left)
Philip was so proud of himself and loved waving to daddy, Parker and mommy on the other side of the pool during his swim lesson (he wanted to make sure we were watching him the whole time... too funny).
Philip floating on his back with Mrs. Christine
Parker and daddy getting their feet wet
Parker swimming like a fish all by himself
Look at me mommy, no floaties... (must admit made me a little nervous)
And we always love the fun water swing
Brothers playing in the water... too quick for mommie's camera I guess

Yay... we did it Woody!

Well, we couldn't be more excited and proud of our big boy Philip... he is officially potty trained and did it in just 3 days! On Day 3 of potty training we wore our big boy underwear and clothes all day and he had no accidents. Then today, he was back at school, had no accidents and even poopied on the potty at school... his teachers were very impressed and he was so excited to tell all his friends about how big he is now that he can potty, show them his cool new toy story underwear and tell them all about his treasure chest (of course) at home. Sometimes bribery to teach lessons works, right?!
Next thing you know he will be a big boy drinking at the bar... baby steps, mommy is so not ready for those days!

Potty Training Day 2

Yay... there is a God and he is amazing!! And there is a potty training whisperer and her name is Lora Jensen! Philip woke up today, had one accident this morning and then no more after that. We started following very strictly the 3 day potty training guide by Lora Jensen and though I don't know Lora... I LOVE her!! He has started going to the bathroom all on his own... he likes to go by himself (of course our little mr. independent- don't know where he gets that from) and then he likes to call me in there when he is done to see his pee pee or poopie... he has pee peed 10 times and had two big poopies today... YAY!! He then enjoys flushing it down the potty and waving bye-bye as he says "bye-bye pee pee, bye-bye poopie!" I of course, his mommy paparazzi, tried to get this on video but he likes his privacy and he said "no mommy, your phone can't watch me"... oopsie, can you blame him?! So as you can imagine, we are celebrating over here like its 1999 in the Brosseau house!! Philip is our big boy superstar and he has enjoyed putting lots of stickers on his potty chart, doing the potty celebration dance buck naked (of course), eating lots of m&m's and getting lots of little surprises from his toy story treasure chest. Let's hope tomorrow is just as wonderful!!

Yes, I'm going to my p-o-t-t-y, p-o-t-t-y now..

Well those are the words of the potty song and I have heard them over and over and over again about a thousand times and am ready to jump out of a window! We are potty training at the Brosseau house! Since Philip turned 3 last week, we told him that now that he is 3, he is a big boy and big boys go on the potty. We got toy story and thomas big boy underwear, threw away all our old "baby diapers" (so he thinks... Parker will need them someday), bought cool stickers and made our toy story potty chart hanging on the frig, got all our favorite juice boxes and chocolate milk, a potty watch to help us remember to try to go, and lots of special treats (m&ms and toy story toys in a treasure chest) for our successes! So far we have watched the potty dvd a million times, read books, colored all on the potty and have had no success... 1 Day in and I'm not feeling so great about this... I mean he will get this right?! We had two pee pee accidents, poopied on the backyard sidewalk (where he cheered and said, "look mommy, I poopied like Herschel"), I even went potty in his little potty to show him how (lets just say those little things were NOT made for adults clearly), and we finally pulled out all stops when daddy got home and put Philip on the potty with the kitchen sink water running and had him put his hand in warm water all while sitting and still nothing! Lets just hope he's not wearing pull ups in the 10th grade...
