We were in Dallas last week for 5 days to see family and for a very much needed mommy and daddy weekend off while we went to a great friend's wedding in Big D! We had an absolute blast (on our "lovers weekend" as Phil kept calling it staying with friends) and the boys really enjoyed some special one on one time with their Mimi and Grande and of course their crazy but fun uncles! We even celebrated Philip's birthday a little early with a special cake that he and his Mimi made especially for him and he decorated it with nonetheless but Toy Story figures and sprinkles... he was very proud of his cake and even more proud of being the center of attention (dont know where he gets that... hmmm, can we say daddy?!)!! We joked however that it doesn't look like cake decorating will be in his future (see pic below)! We also enjoyed eating our beloved Mi Cocina mexican three times while we were there (and yes that was 3 times in just 5 days... can we say obsessive?!) Then, Mimi and Grande and Aunt Avri took the boys to the zoo on Saturday where they had a real blast seeing and feeding the animals. Philip couldn't stop talking about feeding the giraffes literally out of his hand (so cool) and how big the lions where (of course - lions... still his favorite animal for sure). And for those of you who don't know, Phil is the oldest of 6 kids (5 of which are boys)... so the uncles get a real joy out of teaching our kids ridiculous (but always funny) things. All I can say is payback is twice as bad... Winning! (Be sure to pause the music player on the right side of the blog so you can hear little Philip saying his new favorite phrase)
Grande and Parker just enjoying some Dallas spring weather
Mimi and Philip celebrating with a kiss after finishing his birthday cake
Happy 3rd Birthday Philip... love the clumps of sprinkles (which of course was Philip's requested piece) and the army men EVERYWHERE... can we say tasty?!
Parker in survival mode after his first plane ride as a 1 year old (he has flown multiple times last year but wasn't nearly as active as he is now so lets just say the plane rides were a real adventure and were not fun... good thing Philip sat quietly both ways watching movies with his headphones on... but Parker was like a greased pig (as Phil lovingly called him) that we passed back and forth to each other every 5 minutes to try to keep him entertained. Good Times!
