Happy 4th... sweet as sugar!!

We had a wonderful 4th of july in Atlanta at the AAC! The day started with us taking the boys to the pool and Philip jumped off the big boy diving board all by himself for the first time ever - we were so so proud... as was he if you can imagine!! Then that night it was onto the fun 4th of July events... the boys as usual LOVED riding the ponies, petting the animals at the petting zoo, jumping in the "monkey joes" (as philip calls it) bouncehouse, watching fireworks and eating SWEETS!!! It became a contest between my dad and brother I think to see who could give Philip and Parker the most sweets... their dinner each consisted of 1/2 a hamburger bun AND chocolate ice cream, cookies, star lollipops, brownies and twizzlers! Are you kidding me?! But it was a blast and the boys LOVED the fireworks especially Philip who would scream "BAM" after each one went off... needless to say there were LOTS of bams and Philip as always loved having an audience!! Then when we got back to my parents house, Phil, my dad and uncle had another firework show with the most amazing fireworks that Phil had bought in SC on our drive to Atlanta. It was crazy that we could shoot something off that big in my parents backyard but Philip of course LOVED every minute of it including holding his very own sparkler for the first time (I know - please don't call defax on us) and staying up until 10:00pm. He was finally so tired that he said, "okay daddy, last firework... its time for me to go to bed now." I mean are you serious... how old is this kid, 3 or 23?!! Happy 4th everyone and I hope you all had a wonderful day with family and friends!! (PS - Pics to come later... need to get them off my moms camera since I had mommy brain and forgot mine - such is life with 2 little ones under the age of 3 I guess!!)

Happy Father's Day

Well what can I say... you are the best daddy in the whole world and your boys love you more than anything... even more than chocolate ice cream (which is a whole lot if you know Philip and Parker). The boys and I are so blessed to have you as not only a loving daddy and husband but also as an amazing man of God who loves all three of us with all of your heart! Every time I watch Philip and Parker light up when you walk into the room after a long day at work, my heart smiles. Every time I watch you bathe the boys at night and then wrestle with them during your "boy time", my heart skips a beat. Every time I watch you sing "I love you lord" to Parker at bedtime and then read and sing stories to Philip in his bed, my heart melts. What can I say... every time I watch you with my babies... my heart stops! You truly complete us and we love you more than words! We are so lucky to have you as our daddy and we look forward to celebrating many more father's days with our amazing daddy!! xoxo
You teach us
how to walk
And how to
play golf
But most importantly, you teach us that you love us and that we have a heavenly father that loves us more than we can imagine! Thank you daddy, we love you too!

LONG OVERDUE...

At the end of May, we were so blessed with a wonderful weekend filled with family!! Phil's sister Meg, her husband, Chris, and their two precious little boys, Hunter and Charlie, came to visit us in Charlotte. We had never met Charlie (7mo.) who is the sweetest and cutest thing I have ever seen in the whole world and they had never met Parker (15mo)... so as you can imagine it was a get together long overdue!! We had an absolute blast with 4 boys under the age of 3 and the weekend was filled with lots of fun playground playdates, dinosaur cookies, ice cream treats, yummy family friendly dinners out with chocolate milk (of course), baths together and lots of hugs and kisses!! Philip was ecstatic as this was the first time he officially got to have a friend/cousin sleep in his room in his other twin bed with him.. so as you can imagine even though it has been weeks since they had to go back to their home in Ohio, he is still asking when Hunter can come back and spend the night!! Thank yall so much for coming all the way to see us, we love yall very much and can't wait to get together with all the boys again soon!! There is just nothing more special than the love of family!
Who wants chocolate milk?! (Philip and Hunter)
Cheers to Chocolate Milk at Big Daddy's!!

Chunky Monkey or Lil Peanut?

Parker had his 16 month checkup today (really it was for his 15 month appt but we were a little late on his checkup as he turned 16 months this week... poor second child syndrome). However, he did great!! He weighed in at only 26 lbs 5 oz (and I was so shocked that I asked them if the scale was broken and made them weigh him twice)!!! How embarrassing when I realized the scale was working just fine it just appears mommie's biceps are a little weak. He is such a chunk (my chunky monkey) that I was positive that he weighed over 30 lbs and Phil was even banking on 40 lbs!! Silly us... he is only in the 55% for weight which is straight down the middle average!! Can you believe that most babies his age are this big?!! Wow... us mommies need to start working out more so we can tote these little ones around!! Parker also was 33 inches tall (75% for height) and Dr. Ryan was very impressed with his climbing, dancing and TALKING skills (all of which he did in the drs office today)!! Even though he is the second child, he doesn't miss getting a word in all day long!!! He literally never stops talking... guess he is taking after his brother and his daddy - haha!! His favs these days are "mama", "dada", "bye-bye", "hello" (while he puts his hand to his ear like he is talking on the phone - oopsie... looks like mommy might be talking just a little too much on her phone these days), "uh-oh" when he drops stuff on the floor, "here you go," "more," and of course "up" when he wants to be picked up which is all the time these days!! Parker is still not walking on his own but can literally RUN with his push toys and can walk with just one hand next to mommy or daddy when he feels up to it. He can stand all by himself and he literally climbs up on tables like he is superman. Dr. Ryan laughed when I acted worried about him not walking... she said if he can climb like he is doing and stand up on his own... he can walk - he is just going to do it in his own time. Do you think that was her nice way of saying that he is stubborn?! Oh great, looks like we have another strong-willed little boy on our hands!! And we are so excited to be heading to the beach for a whole week with my family in the morning... looks like Parker is going to be in for Gigi's walking boot camp at the beach!!

Hot Dog Hot Dog Hot Diggity Dog

Sound familiar?! Well that was the song that played over and over and over in the Brosseau house this past week and weekend... what fun!! We had a blast with our fun visit from our Mimi and Grande. Mimi brought Philip his very own Mickey mouse ears that have his name on the back that Phil wore as a little boy from his first trip to Disney World years ago (which was so cool) and she brought the boys favorite (including daddy) as always JD's chocolate chip cookies. Philip LOVED wearing the ears around and both boys of course loved singing and dancing to the "hot dog" song and eating yummy cookies all weekend long! Mimi and Grande, we love yall so very much and can't thank you enough for your sweet visit! We can't wait to see you soon and we miss you already! (And Note to Self: I need to be better about taking more pics especially when our sweet grandparents are here).
*Remember to mute the music player to the right of the blog to listen to the video*

There is just nothing sweeter than the sound

of my 3 BOYS!! I am so blessed to have all three of them and couldn't imagine my life any different! It's because of these sweet hand prints and foot prints, giggles and tears that I am the luckiest girl in the whole world! Philip gave me the sweetest gift tied with a precious little ribbon this year and it read:

I made a special gift for you
To celebrate your day
And to thank you for taking care of me
In a kind and loving way.

Now you'll see it's dressed in ribbon
And tied into a bow
Be sure to save this ribbon
'cause there's a secret you should know.

The ribbon has been cut just right
To show you I've grown so tall
And one day when you pull it out
You'll think of it as small.

Our bond is all our own.
We were always meant to be.
God not only gave me to you,
But He chose you for me.

So today I wish all you amazing mommies out there a wonderful day of love! We have the toughest job in the whole world but one that definitely gives the BIGGEST reward! And to my sweet mom, YOU are so amazing and I wouldn't be here without YOU! I have learned so much from you... what it means to be truly giving and caring, how to believe in myself and my ideals and most importantly the unconditional love of our heavenly father. I'm always happy when someone says that I remind them of you... because there isn't anyone else in the world I'd rather be like... I love you MOM! Happy Mother's Day!

Guess whose swimming like little fish...

Philip and Parker!!! Today, we started swim lessons for Philip and Parker at the Y and they both absolutely LOVE it! Philip was so excited to be in a big boy class for the first time ever with just the instructor and other kids and his favorite part he said was of course jumping in like Buzz lightyear while yelling "to infiniti and beyond." He would literally stand and jump on the side practicing while he was waiting his turn for Mrs. Christine to let him jump in off the side... too cute! And Parker was so excited to be in his first mommy and me swim class and he did great! He loved splashing in the water and kicking his feet, loved swimming after the balls (of course) and even went down the slide and blew bubbles... such a big boy! Mommy, daddy, Philip and Parker loved our family saturday morning swim lessons and can't wait for next week!!
Philip's Pike swim class (Philip is 2nd from left)
Philip was so proud of himself and loved waving to daddy, Parker and mommy on the other side of the pool during his swim lesson (he wanted to make sure we were watching him the whole time... too funny).
Philip floating on his back with Mrs. Christine
Parker and daddy getting their feet wet
Parker swimming like a fish all by himself
Look at me mommy, no floaties... (must admit made me a little nervous)
And we always love the fun water swing
Brothers playing in the water... too quick for mommie's camera I guess

Yay... we did it Woody!

Well, we couldn't be more excited and proud of our big boy Philip... he is officially potty trained and did it in just 3 days! On Day 3 of potty training we wore our big boy underwear and clothes all day and he had no accidents. Then today, he was back at school, had no accidents and even poopied on the potty at school... his teachers were very impressed and he was so excited to tell all his friends about how big he is now that he can potty, show them his cool new toy story underwear and tell them all about his treasure chest (of course) at home. Sometimes bribery to teach lessons works, right?!
Next thing you know he will be a big boy drinking at the bar... baby steps, mommy is so not ready for those days!
