Let it Snow... Let it Snow... Let it Snow

Well today Philip saw and played for the first time in real SNOW! It was a gorgeous day and a gift from God... and we played as a family in the beautiful winter wonderland. Philip absolutely LOVED the snow and we had to literally pull him out of it to come inside after a long day as we were all starting to melt. It is days like this that we are reminded of the simple things in life that bring us joy and we are so thankful for precious moments together like these that we will remember always. Maybe next time Philip will be big enough to even go sledding...
Philip eagerly awaiting the snow
Mommy, Daddy, look... here it comes... can I go outside and play now?
Pretty please...
I even got to write my name in the snow... how fun!
My daddy and me getting ready to play with Texie in the snow
But... Mommy... I can't put my arms down!
We love the snow... do you?
This is so much fun daddy... again, again!
Two snow buddies
I know they say don't drive in the snow... but afterall I am a professional here
Kids... don't try this at home
Texie... come play with me, I promise I won't run you over in my racecar
This snow stuff is great
I don't ever want to go inside
Mommy and Daddy... do yall see all this snow?!
I can hardly believe how cold it is
But it still tastes great
And I love when the snowflakes fall on my face... it tickles my nose
... and makes me laugh
But I am not ready to go inside mommy... just 5 more minutes please
5 minutes later
And as you can see we are still outside... I am sure by now you can all guess who won that battle
Philip: 1     Mommy: 0
And afterall he did say please...

Still loving the snow and eating it every chance I get

Philip and Harry... Best Friends Forever
This weekend, we went out for mexican food and 'ritas with our best friends the McNeels. Philip and Harry had a blast together of course and loved even more staying up until after 10pm playing. I mean afterall what little boy wouldn't love to stay up 2 whole hours after their bedtime?! Harry is now 13 months old and is walking so the boys loved especially playing with Philip's new walking wagon that his sweet Mimi and Grande gave him for Christmas. Philip of course sat in the wagon like a little prince while he had poor Harry push him all around the room. It was an absolute scream though to watch and the little boys loved every minute of it! Can't wait for our next playdate!
Alright now Harry... I will ride and you push first
Yeah... this is so much fun
but watch out now... don't run me into that wall
And watch out Giraffey... we are coming right towards you
You can just call me Prince Philip the III
Harry, keep going... this is way too much fun to stop
Harry, I see you sitting there ready for your ride... but unfortunately I don't have the whole walking thing down yet
Let's just take a rain check and see me in about 2 months

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! Philip is absolutely loving his first very special Valentine's day with his mommy and daddy. I feel so blessed to have the two most amazing men/boys in my life who have spoiled me all day long with hugs and kisses. Philip's precious smile and laughter is enough to melt my heart over and over again these days! Philip has also enjoyed getting his first valentine's day cards from all his wonderful grandparents and great-grandparents (thank you all so much as I have saved them all in his baby book) as well as his very first cell phone (it even has a picture of the University of Georgia football field as its screen saver) from his mommy and daddy. We have promised to not get him a real one until he is at least old enough to drive a car... we will see how that goes over when he gets older.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Am I precious or what?!
Will you be my Valentine?
Although I love this box of chocolate... do I have to give it up?
Mommy's newest little Valentine
Here I am crawling to tell my mommy I love her with her "I love you" balloon!
Kids... don't try this at home
I love YOU!
Am I the sweetest Valentine or what?!
Look... I even got you a balloon too!
I just love this holiday!
And I love even more playing peek-a-boo... my new favorite game... Peek-a-boo
...Here I am
Can we play again?!
Peek-a-boo!
Look how tall I am now mommy... I love flying on our new balloon
My very first Valentine's Day card and my very own cell phone
Ring Ring... incoming call
I love you!
What can I say... I am one handsome little Valentine for sure!
Now how did that balloon get all the way up there?

Biscuits and Brownies

Phil, Philip and I went and had a great visit with Philip's great-grandmother Mimi. It was such a fun day as Philip got to show off his newest trick... crawling! Mimi was so proud of her great-grandson that she rewarded him with a special lunch as we might call it... biscuits and brownies. And boy did he LOVE it... hours later we had to practically bribe him to get him to go home for his naptime as he didnt want to leave his Mimi's house. Afterall if you got to eat biscuits and brownies all day, would you?!
Sitting like a big boy with Mimi in my Daddy Buck's highchair that he sat in as a little boy
My Daddy Buck would be so proud of me, his little Wonderboy
Yummy... brownies and cool whip (my new favorite) and my Mimi is even letting me eat my dessert on the floor (my mommy never lets me do that)!
More please :o)
Now this is the life! Mommy... please don't ever make me go home!

Philip's 9 month check-up

Today our little angel turned 9 months old and had his check-up with Dr. Harrell. He weighed in at 19lbs 1 oz and measured 29 inches long. He is in the 10-25% for his weight and of course the 90% for his height. He is one tall drink of water for sure! Philip of course had a perfect check-up with no shots (except for a little toe prick which he didn't even cry for) and clearly surpassed all his developmental questions (well with the exception of one which was his parents fault)... he is crawling like crazy these days, is trying to pull-up (he can get to his knees), stands on his own for a short period of time and is eating solids like a champ. However, at the end of the developmental question list the nurse asked me, "does he understand the word "no?" I looked puzzled at first and then all of a sudden out of my mouth came the mortifying words... "I don't think so... we haven't actually ever told him no before." I was so embarrassed as you moms can imagine as the nurse sort of rolled her eyes. Note to self... never tell that I haven't told my child "no" for 9 whole months of his life. I clearly must have the case of the first-born syndrome. But I promise you all, Philip is really so good that we haven't had to exercise the word "no" into his vocabulary. However, as a take away from his appointment... I came immediately home and told Phil, we for sure need to start telling him "no!"
