Happy 4th of July

Wow... where do I begin... this was such a big weekend... filled with lots of first's and excitement for Philip.  It all started on July 3, Philip, Gigi and I went to Grandmommie and Granddaddies' house to celebrate Grandmommie's b-day.  It was his first time to their log cabin and what a fun adventure it was.  He felt so comfortable there that he just fell right asleep in his Granddaddie's arms. We are so blessed as our Grandmommie and Granddaddy are the sweetest and loving grandparents and great-grandparents that a kid could ever dream of having... we love you so much! Then, that night we celebrated as our new family of three in honor of daddy as Phil closed his first deal at Fairfield!  Way to go sweetie - we are so very proud of you!!!  The 4th of July started out with fun in the sun at the McNeels where Philip and Harry, Philip's best friend, got to play all day long out by the pool and then took naps together. Let me go back by saying Harry is Steven and Mollie's precious little boy who is just 2 1/2 months older than Philip.  Phil and Steven were college roommates and somehow survived living with each other and are still the best of friends and Mollie and I met in college through the guys and have been the best of friends ever since.  So of course... our little boys are going to be best friends too - we declared that with them in the womb so lets be honest... they really don't have a choice at this point.  Plus Mollie and I are having playdates once a week so the boys will pretty much be almost like brothers whether they like it or not.  The day of fun at the McNeels was a blast as always and we then headed over to the Atlanta Athletic Club for some BBQ and fireworks.  AAC has a huge party for the 4th with tons of kiddie rides, music, ice-cream, and of course pony rides!  Philip was so excited about the horses that we just had to let him ride too... I mean afterall - he does have that TEXAS blood in him.  So there he was at just 8 weeks old and already dreaming of being a cowboy as he saddled up for his first ride on a horse... he was just precious.  Then as the night grew dark, the fireworks started and Philip absolutely LOVED them!  I was worried that they might be too loud and hurt his little ears... but then again, who am I kidding, with Phil as his dad... loudness is one thing Philip is used to for sure. He loved the bright colors and watched them with his big brown eyes in awe... all we can hope is that next year he isn't trying to shoot off his own fireworks!
Me and my Grandmommie and Granddaddy - Happy Birthday Grandmommie!

Philip and Big Daddy
Philip met his first celebrity at just 7 days old... Chris Young, also known as "Big Daddy," who is 6'11 and pitches in the Major League for the San Diego Padres. It was a BIG day for sure!
Mommy... do you think these guys make me look too small?!

St. Simons... here we come

When Philip was just 7 weeks old, we took him to St. Simons for his very first trip of many.  As you all know, St. Simons is the Buckler family's home away from home.  I have grown up going there every summer since I was 7 weeks old.  And Philip got to experience it for the first time at the big Buckler/Hanson family reunion.  He met so many cousins... even 3rd and 4th cousins...  The Hansons, who mostly live in Houston, brought Philip his first UT gear... a baby tee that says, "you can't spell cute without UT."  His uncle Boone, who currently goes to UT loved it but his daddy was very worried that we were confusing him at a young age so he put on his UGA gear with a downward "hook em' horns."  Oh how the Texas/Georgia battle already begins.  Anyway, Philip of course is a Buckler as he LOVED his new home away from home.  He loved even more spending all day everyday with his "sidekick" (as they lovingly called each other)... his Daddy Buck.  Philip and DB were pretty much on the same schedule each day... they ate together, had their baths at the same time, and even took naps together.  Philip would swing endlessly while Daddy Buck reclined in his luxurious lift chair and they would just talk to each other all day long. What fun... Philip loved his time with his Daddy Buck - it was definitely the highlight of Philip's first trip to the beach.  And since he was only seven weeks old, he didnt spend much time at the beach... I took him down to the ocean just for a minute all covered up just to touch his little toes in the sand and get some pictures to prove it... it counted!

Mom, no more pictures please... me and my Daddy Buck are relaxing!
Can you believe they are all related to me (Bucklers & Hansons)... and they tell me there is still more?!

Happy Father's Day Phil

How exciting... it is Phil's first fathers day!  It was a very fun and relaxing day out by the pool celebrated with margaritas and of course Phil's favorite chips and salsa! Philip is already Phil's favorite son... as he gave Phil lots of presents.  Philip bought his daddy golf balls and lots of golf stuff to keep him practicing so one day soon he can teach him how to play.  Philip also got to ride in his boat for the first time ever with the help of his daddy of course... but he felt like a big boy steering all his favorite stuffed animals around. Happy Father's Day sweetie - you are an amazing father and husband and Philip and I are so blessed to have you in our lives.  We love you so much!

Happy Father's Day daddy!
I love you daddy!

Hold on animals, I got this on my own now... look at me I am steering!

We are Family

As you all know, Phil is the oldest of six siblings.  And as I am the youngest of three, Philip has been blessed with more aunts and uncles than he knows what to do with.  He got to first meet his uncle Blake and aunt Lyd in the hospital when he was merely hours old.... but we told him - oh yes, there is more.  Then when he was four weeks old, his uncle Boone and uncle Sam and aunt Avri all came from Dallas to visit him.  We had a blast... grilling out, listening to music, playing Tiger Woods on the playstation 3(the boys claimed they were teaching Philip how to play golf... but I am pretty sure it was more for their entertainment than his) and of course getting his picture made with the Stafford signed jersey that Boone brought to Phil.  Then on that Saturday, Philip got to meet his uncle Brad, aunt Britt and his two only cousins at the time... Alli and Elizabeth (who we lovingly refer to as "Boots").  Philip was all boy when he met his girl cousins and even pretended to be asleep when the girls tried to get him to play dolls.  But then again, what can we expect from a Brosseau boy getting his picture made on a pink Barbie sofa?!  He also got to feed Papa Doc and Gigi's fish in their coy pond for the first time of many.  He loved it and loved the fish even more... what can I say... he is ALL BOY - lets just hope he doesnt try to catch them next time!!  And after a long weekend of fun, we caught Philip zonked out on the couch... I guess he was pretty tired from learning all that Tiger Woods golf.  What a great memorable weekend... now he just can't wait to meet the rest of his aunts and uncles...

Me and my cousin Alli... if I stay asleep maybe I won't have to play with those dolls
If I just keep pretending to sleep... I know my daddy will get me off this barbie sofa
Papa Doc and Gigi... let's feed those fish again before I really do fall asleep
I love snuggling with my uncle Sam
Hey look at me... I am hanging out with my uncle Boone, aunt Avri and uncle Sam
I love my aunt Avri
Go Dawgs!
The Buckler family... growing and growing
Dr. Brad and the two babies... Boots and Philip
What a fun weekend... I am pooped!
