It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Well today we went to take Philip to pick out his very first christmas tree ever! He had a blast and loved touching and trying to eat (of course) all the trees. We picked out the perfect tree for our little family of three and then all afternoon we decorated our tree together by the fire listening to my favorite, christmas music. Philip even got to hang his special ornaments and then last but not least got to help his daddy put the angel on the top. He grinned from ear to ear but I am not sure if he was loving the fact that he was putting the angel on top or thinking that his daddy was playing his new favorite game airplane. Your guess is as good as mine.

Our perfect and most precious Christmas gift ever... Philip with a bow on top!

So now with Philip's special stocking, that his Mimi so dearly made out of love for him, hung by the mantle with care, in hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there. Christmas is coming soon!
Then to end the night, we put out all the wrapped christmas presents under the tree. Philip LOVED the presents and he is obsessed with all the paper and bows and was having a blast pulling them off the gifts and then of course eating them... he is all boy!

And to top it all off before bedtime, Philip decided that it would be such fun to ride around on Texie pretending he was his very own reindeer. I am not so sure how much fun Tex had... but Philip had a blast! Like they say... Christmas, it's the most wonderful time of the year!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!

Gobble Gobble

Happy Thanksgiving... we feel so blessed as it was Philip's first Thanksgiving ever and boy did he have a day to remember! It started with a trip to Emory to see my grandfather Daddy Buck who is doing so much better and then was followed by a turkey filled day at my grandmommies and granddaddies' house. Philip played with all of his cousins and even got to eat real homemade banana pudding (we blame his Gigi for this one) which he absolutely loved! And then in honor of Philip's first Thanksgiving, Phil and I decided to cook a turkey that weighed as much as our little turkey Philip. Looks like we will be eating turkey from now until next thanksgiving after cooking a 17 lb bird! Hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Turkey day!

Philip's Baptism

On November 16, 2008... Philip was baptized at Perimeter Church. It was a glorious day that we will always remember!

Philip, we feel so blessed by God to be entrusted with you, our little angel, and know that you are truly the most precious gift that God has given us. Our greatest desire is to see you savingly know the Lord. We are so excited and promise to raise you in "the discipline and instruction of the Lord" (Eph. 6:4). The bible directs us to teach God's words "diligently to our sons" (Deut. 6:7) and to make God's laws "known to our sons and grandsons" (Deut. 4:9). We delight in knowing that we may stand fully and securely on the promises of our covenant-keeping God and, by his grace, expect the fulfillment of those promises in you, our child. So today on your baptism, know that our Lord promises "to all who receive him, to those who believe in his name, he gives the right to become children of God" (John 1:12). And we pray that you will grow to seek him in all that you do, "like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good" (1 Peter 2:2-3). We love you so much and pray that you will grow to have a heart that loves and serves our Lord.
"Listen my son to a father's instruction, pay attention and gain understanding. I give you sound learning so do not forsake my teaching. When I was a boy in my father's house, still tender and an only child of my mother, he taught me and said, "Lay hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands and you will live. Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. Do not forsake wisdom and she will protect you. Love her and she will watch over you." Proverbs 4:1-6

Philip's Grandmommie and Granddaddy gave Philip this engraved Noah's Ark bank in celebration of his baptism. Thank you so much Grandmommie and Granddaddy, we love it!

Philip's monogrammed under garment which we will get monogrammed for each precious child that wears this christening gown in our family.

What an unforgettable moment in time and amazing weekend! Philip's Mimi and Grande flew in for the precious moment and the day was blessed with wonderful family and love as Philip celebrated with his Gigi, Papa Doc, Mimi, Grande, Grandmommie, Grandaddy, Aunt Lyd and Uncle Blake, Aunt Britt and cousins Alli and Boots. It was a day we will always hold close and dear to our hearts. We love you Philip!

Into the Wild

This past weekend we enjoyed an unforgettable time with wonderful friends, great food, and the unbelievable beauty of nature at the W.C. Bradley Farm. Jack and Ashley Turner invited us along with the McNeels and the Davids to have a weekend get-away at their farm. Philip loved it of course as he got to play with Harry and Weezie, see his first deer (an 87lb doe) being skinned in the "skin shed" and even learned about the infamous beer frig from his best friend Harry. He also got his first official boo-boo on his little head as he fell into a tree trunk outside... what can I say, he has truly now been initiated into the wild! Thank you so much Jack, Ashley and Weezie for a wonderful weekend... we can't wait until next time!
