Happy Birthday Angel... I can't believe you are already ONE!! It seems like just yesterday I was holding you in my arms for the first time praising God for you, our little miracle! You were born at just 5 lbs 15 oz at 8:47pm and you were PERFECT in every way! Your daddy and I have prayed for you every day since before you were born... and I am so excited to be here to celebrate your first birthday with you! Your birthday party was the "it" party of the year... we had a pool party at Gigi and Papa Doc's house filled with family and friends, rubber duckies galore, balloons, the paparazzi and much much more. Your daddy said it looked like something out of a Neiman Marcus catalog and was over the top and your uncle Blake is still complaining about how your first birthday party cost your Gigi and Papa Doc three times as much as his first car did... but afterall you are perfect and definitely worth it, right?! I mean as I think back to your first year... I think you can count the # of times you actually heard the word "no" on one hand (oops... did I just say that outloud... what can I say he is a firstborn). So all in all I think you are pretty perfect, so of course you needed the perfect birthday party! You absolutely LOVED your rubber ducky birthday cake and after you analyzed it for a few seconds you dug right in with both hands, elbows and all and ate your cake with everyone cheering at each bite! You of course got cake from head to toe... but you didnt mind one bit... because what was next on the agenda, a little dip in your Gigi and Papa Doc's newly HEATED pool! Yep, that is right... they heated their swimming pool just for you and your party. I mean afterall it is only April and we needed that water to be warm for our little angel when he turned ONE! Your guest list was long and full of love and your little monogrammed pail party favors and centerpieces were the hit of the party (thanks to your sweet cousin Leslie who painted all of them for us). Everyone signed your big Rubber Ducky for a keepsake and had a blast swimming and celebrating with YOU! Thank you Gigi and Papa Doc for everything and for all your help with Philip's first party... it was a dream come true and absolutely PERFECT for our PERFECT little boy! Happy First Birthday Philip III... we all LOVE you very much!

On your birthday Monday, April 27, 2009... you and Harry celebrated in style. From cupcakes and cheerios to bathtime and playing music... you had a wonderful day! Then we went to dinner with daddy, Gigi and Papa Doc at our favorite La Fonda and you devoured your flour tortillas and chicken as always. Only this time your La Fonda dinner ended with a little special surprise... a banana popsicle. Then we went home and opened presents... and you got your very first pair of real COWBOY Boots from mommy and daddy and your Gigi and Papa Doc lovingly gave you a dollar for every day you have been with us and made them smile along with your very own noah's ark director's chair... You loved it all and we are so blessed to have you in our lives! We love you so much... Happy Birthday Angel!
