Parkerman or Superman

Well we had an interesting few days at the Brosseau household this week... our sweet little content Parkerman attempted to fly like Superman out of his crib but didn't have a very successful landing to say the least. However, by the time we got to him after hearing his screaming cry... he was standing up and walking out of his room. Praise God there were no broken bones... just a little swollen hand that quickly felt better after lots of mommy and daddy kisses and some time holding buzz's super cool ice pack! So that night - we put Parker into his new big boy bed in Philip's room where they have matching twin beds (of course) and he did great the first night. I think he was just so exhausted and scared from the fall that he slept all night in a new bed without even realizing it. Then the fun began on day 2... at naptime, he wanted nothing to do with that big boy bed and all he kept doing was walking into his room and crying "night night," throwing temper tantrum after temper tantrum, and NOT sleeping (which as you know doesn't work for anyone in this house)! And who could blame him... his bed is his security blankie... he sleeps 14 hours a night and takes 3 hour naps everyday... and not because he wants to sleep but because he LOVES his bed!! It is his safe place!! So needless to say... he wasn't ready to move and lets face it, mommy wasn't really ready for him to move either (why fix a good thing when its not broken, right?!... this mommy loves her sleep too)!! And afterall he is only 20 months and just started walking a few weeks ago. Baby steps here people!! So after lots of crib tents and converting his crib research, we chose to convert his crib and put up a crib bedrail as a transition phase until he is ready for his big boy bed with Philip. I know I know what you are thinking... I did move Philip at 20 months into his big boy bed but only because I was due 2 months later with a new baby and we did LOTS and LOTS of prep work by reading our favorite "bye bye crib" books, going into his big boy room and talking about how special it was and how cool his new bed was, and having special mommy and Philip picnics in his new big boy room for weeks before we moved him. So I am excited to now have some special time to do the same with Parker too... looks like we will be reading our new bye bye crib favorite book here very soon!! But until then... we are going to enjoy this transition time... So heres to the genius that created the convertible crib and to no more Superman adventures!!!
Look whose
a Big Boy
Now!!
And Philip was pretty proud of his little brother as well... can you tell?!

Playing Hooky

This past week the boys played hooky from preschool and we went to Atlanta for fun with Gigi and Papa Doc, a dinosaur adventure and a sleepover party!! We went from Tuesday - Sunday because Phil had to work from Atlanta for a few days and then played in the PDC Member Guest Golf Tournament over the weekend. We had a great week of fun... the boys loved getting to eat their usual sgetti and chocolate ice cream with m&ms at the Club with Gigi and Doc, go for golf cart jolly rides around the golf course, play and see all the BIG dinosaurs at Fernbank (and with both boys new obsession with dinosaurs, this was a real hit as you can imagine) and loved their sleepover party with Uncle Blake and Aunt Lyd!!! The boys couldn't believe how "the dinosaurs were even bigger than their daddy" as Philip kept saying, Parker loved doing his new adorable "ROOOAAARRRR" every time he saw a new dinosaur and the T-Rex was of course both boys dinosaur of choice (Parker can even say T-Rex now... it is too cute)!!! And Parker now has a new favorite toy... so move over Buzz Lightyear... Papa Doc is now the chosen one!! It was too funny... Phil and I kept laughing trying to figure out what Papa Doc had done to win Parkers little heart over in full but all Parker wanted all week was his "Papa Doc" which he says so good now!! Even when we got home on Sunday and I started to unpack, Parker started repacking his toys and kept saying over and over again "Papa Doc Papa Doc Papa Doc." Good thing we are going to see his Papa Doc in just two weeks in St. Simons!! And then on Saturday night, mommy and daddy had a night out on the town and the boys had a sleepover party with just Uncle Blake and Aunt Lyd! They watched the go dawgs game, played outside, played the boys favorite game "duck duck goose" (hearing Parker play this game might be the cutest thing I have ever seen), slept great and all of that was followed by a fun lazy morning with yummy eggs and bacon!! Blake and Lyd couldn't believe how good the boys were and couldn't believe "how easy" it was to take care of them (a direct quote from my brother Blake)... I explained that the kids sleeping till 9am is not the norm for most kids... mine just LOVE to sleep! Guess Phil and I really do have an amazing thing going with our little sleepers... although when they are up... they are up, wild and crazy!! Glad it was so easy though... looks like we will be hitting them up again soon - ha!! What a great week... looks like its going to be super hard to top all of that with just a week of school, playdates and flu shots this week in Charlotte... good thing we have another fun bday party with cupcakes on Saturday to look forward to!!!

Why didn't I think of this?!!

I love how some one out there is a billionaire after making the concept of the Mr Potato Head which my kids absolutely LOVE!! And now... someone else is banking off making this precious idea!! Look what we made at the Brosseau household today... Pirate Mr Potato Head Pumpkins!! SO cute!!

Philip is Special

Check out Philip's first school project this year... a poster of pictures to share with his class to show them why he is special and all the things he loves! From family and beach trips to chocolate ice cream and the georgia bulldogs... he was excited to tell his friends at school all about him!! He started off by saying that he was special because God made him special and then really had fun telling them all the things he loves!! What can I say... he felt like one special 3 year old today and he had a very very proud mommy and daddy!!
Philip was VERY proud of his poster... can you tell?!
